Development Description

RACQUET SPORTS AT GRAND HARBOR

Where the Game Is Played at Its Finest

At Grand Harbor Golf & Beach Club, the pursuit of excellence on the racquet courts is as deeply woven into the fabric of daily life as the fairways and the ocean breeze. The club's Racquet Sports Complex — a reinspired, world-class facility featuring ten magnificent Har-Tru clay courts, two lighted stadium courts, and a dedicated pickleball complex — stands as one of the finest private tennis and pickleball destinations in all of Florida, and among the most celebrated in the southeastern United States.

Whether you are a seasoned competitor who has played at the highest levels, a committed club player seeking to sharpen your game, or someone discovering the joy of racquet sports for the first time, Grand Harbor offers an environment that meets you exactly where you are — and elevates you from there. The instruction is world-class. The facilities are impeccably maintained. The community that gathers on these courts every week is warm, competitive, and genuinely welcoming. And the experience, from the first serve to the final handshake at the net, is everything that private club tennis and pickleball should be.

THE TENNIS FACILITY

Ten Magnificent Har-Tru Courts

Har-Tru clay is the surface of champions. Gentler on the joints, demanding of footwork and technique, and imbued with the unhurried rhythm of a game played as it was always meant to be played — tennis on clay is an experience fundamentally different from any other surface, and at Grand Harbor, it is the only surface members know. All ten courts are meticulously maintained to a tournament-level standard that reflects the club's standing as one of the premier private tennis venues in Florida.

The complex includes two lighted stadium courts — full-scale competition venues that have hosted professional WTA players, witnessed the early stages of careers that have gone on to achieve world rankings and Grand Slam glory, and served as the backdrop for some of the most thrilling tennis ever played in Indian River County. To step onto a Grand Harbor stadium court is to play in a space with genuine professional pedigree — and to feel, in some small but entirely real way, the electricity that the world's best players bring to the game.

For everyday member play, the full array of ten courts provides ample availability across every day of the week and every level of competition. Grand Harbor's six-day priority court reservation system ensures that members can plan their game with ease and confidence, and the club's professional team is always on hand to facilitate matches, organize events, and ensure that every visit to the court is as enjoyable as it is productive.

INSTRUCTION & PROFESSIONAL STAFF

World-Class Coaching. Every Level.

Grand Harbor's Director of Sports, Marco Osorio, brings a professional pedigree to the club that is genuinely extraordinary — the kind of background that transforms a tennis program from a club amenity into a genuine center of excellence.

Marco's career is the story of tennis at the very highest levels. As an ATP professional, he reached a career high in the top 200 in both singles and doubles — competing on the world circuit and representing Mexico as a Davis Cup player with victories over some of the game's most celebrated names, including Roger Federer and the Bryan brothers. After retiring from professional play, he became one of Mexico's most accomplished high-performance coaches, developing national champions across multiple age divisions and ultimately serving as Mexico's Davis Cup Captain.

His mastery of tournament organization is equally remarkable. Marco has organized more than 50 world-class tournaments and has been recognized on five separate occasions by the International Tennis Federation as the organizer of the best Grade A tournament in the world — a distinction that places him in the company of the most respected figures in international tennis administration. Grade A tournaments represent the pinnacle of the ITF event hierarchy, with only nine such events worldwide, including the four Grand Slams.

"Marco Osorio brings a professional pedigree to Grand Harbor that is simply extraordinary — a former ATP player who beat Roger Federer, a Davis Cup captain, and one of the world's most decorated tournament organizers."
— Grand Harbor Golf & Beach Club

Under Marco's leadership, Grand Harbor's tennis program has been elevated to a level that few private clubs anywhere in the country can match. His team of USPTA and USTA certified teaching professionals shares his passion for the game and his commitment to helping every member — regardless of age, ability, or experience — reach their full potential on the court.

Instruction Programs

The Grand Harbor tennis instruction program is comprehensive, progressive, and genuinely personalized — designed to meet each member where they are and take them where they want to go.

From private lessons with a USPTA professional to structured group clinics, stroke and strategy workshops, playing lessons on the court, and video analysis for those who want to understand the technical dimensions of their game — every element of a complete tennis education is available here, delivered by coaches who care deeply about the results they produce.

COMPETITIVE & SOCIAL TENNIS

A Calendar Alive With Competition

Tennis at Grand Harbor is never a solitary pursuit. The club maintains one of the most vibrant and active member tennis programs on the Treasure Coast, with a full calendar of competitive and social events that ensures there is always a match to play, a tournament to enter, or a new player to meet.

Interclub Team Tennis

Grand Harbor fields four Men's teams and four Ladies' teams in the Indian River County Tennis Association Leagues — one of the largest and most competitive club tennis programs in the region. Weekly interclub matches bring together members with a shared commitment to competition and camaraderie, and the team culture at Grand Harbor is one of the most tight-knit and spirited in the county.

Whether you are an experienced competitive player seeking league-level challenge or a developing player looking to test your game against outside competition for the first time, Grand Harbor's team tennis program offers a place for you — and a team that will be genuinely glad to have you.

THE VERO BEACH INTERNATIONAL TENNIS OPEN

Where the Pros Play. At Your Club.

Every January, the Grand Harbor Tennis Complex is transformed into something that few private clubs anywhere in the world can claim: the venue for a genuine professional WTA tour event. The Vero Beach International Tennis Open — the VBITO — is a USTA Pro Circuit tournament carrying a $75,000 prize pool, and it is one of only ten clubs in the entire nation selected to host an event of this caliber. Grand Harbor is proud to carry the designation of Distinguished Club in recognition of this exceptional honor.

Now in its fifth year, the VBITO has grown from a bold vision into the most exclusive professional tennis tournament in Indian River County and the largest annual sporting event in the area. More than 100 top WTA professionals — ranked among the top 100 to 200 players in the world and representing over 36 countries — converge on Grand Harbor each January to compete for tour rankings, prize money, and the prestige of winning one of the circuit's most celebrated events.

The tournament's global reach is extraordinary. Live streaming brings more than 1.5 million viewers worldwide to the Grand Harbor courts each year, placing Vero Beach — and Grand Harbor — on the international tennis map in a way that reflects the highest aspirations of the club and the community it serves. Among the tournament's alumni are players who have gone on to achieve world rankings in the top 100 and compete at the Grand Slam level — Emma Navarro and Peyton Stearns among the most celebrated examples of the VBITO's power as a developmental stage for the world's finest young players.

But the VBITO is far more than a tennis tournament. It is a week-long celebration of community, sport, and the singular atmosphere that only Grand Harbor can create. The tournament week is accompanied by an extraordinary program of social events — elegant club dinners, a fashion show, wine socials, curated art exhibitions, Pro-Am matches that put members on the same court as touring professionals, a Kids' Day with junior clinics, a spectacular antique car show, and a festive atmosphere that transforms the entire club into something genuinely extraordinary.

For Grand Harbor members, the VBITO is one of the most anticipated weeks of the year — a chance to witness world-class tennis on the courts they play on every day, to meet and mingle with the players at club events, and to participate in one of the most unique experiences that any private club membership in Florida can offer. The tournament is a source of enormous community pride, and it is one of the most compelling expressions of what makes Grand Harbor genuinely different from every other club on the Treasure Coast.

"Grand Harbor is recognized as a Distinguished Club — one of only ten in the nation selected to host a USTA Pro Circuit event of this level, with 100+ WTA players from 36 countries competing before 4,600 spectators and 1.5 million global viewers."
— Vero Beach International Tennis Open

PICKLEBALL AT GRAND HARBOR

The Fastest-Growing Game. A Grand Harbor Court.

Pickleball has swept the private club world — and Grand Harbor has embraced it with the same energy, investment, and commitment to excellence that defines every element of life at the club. The addition of a dedicated pickleball complex, part of the broader reinvention of the club's Racquet Sports facilities, has given Grand Harbor members access to one of the finest pickleball experiences in the region — and made the game one of the most talked-about amenities at the club.

What makes pickleball at Grand Harbor special is not merely the quality of the courts or the caliber of the instruction — though both are excellent. It is the spirit of the game as it is played here: joyful, social, accessible to players of all ages and abilities, and yet genuinely competitive for those who want to take their game to the next level. Pickleball at Grand Harbor has a way of bringing together members who might never have met on the golf course or the tennis court — creating new friendships and new corners of the community social life that enrich the entire club.

The Grand Harbor "Dink & Drink" — the club's signature pickleball social tournament — has become one of the most beloved events in the community calendar. Open to members of all skill levels, it combines the accessible, fun-first energy of pickleball with the warm social atmosphere that defines life at Grand Harbor. Whether you are a longtime pickleball devotee or stepping onto the court for the very first time, the Dink & Drink is the perfect introduction to what makes this game — and this club — so special.

For those seeking to develop their skills more formally, Grand Harbor's certified instructors offer structured clinics and individual coaching sessions tailored to every stage of the pickleball journey — from absolute beginner to experienced competitive player. The club also manages a Pickleball Ratings system through its PlayByPoint platform, ensuring that members are always matched with appropriate competition and that the game on the courts at Grand Harbor is always at the right level for everyone involved.
